Grair has been home almost three weeks and is doing awesome. Due to his heart complications, his immune system is expected to be weak, therefore the doctors have encouraged us to keep him home as much as possible, and we have done just that. Much to Melissa’s dismay, he didn’t even get his photo taken with Santa! 🙂
Grair has been eating, sleeping and pooping just as expected of any newborn. His weight gain is great; averaging about an ounce a day. To put in perspective, the low end of normal weight gain is 1/2 ounce a day. In fact, as of yesterday, Grair was 7lbs!
He continues to advance, and is more awake and attentive every day. Our pediatrician visits Grair at home often and is very excited about his progress each time. This in turns makes mom and dad proud and equally excited.
The holidays went well; our families were flexible and willing to come over and celebrate with us at home. It was great to get together with everyone outside of the hospital environment. We are thankful for their support and the blessings bestowed on us!
