Grair is doing great and feeling good!  He’s getting tired of being in his room and playing iPad (never thought I’d be typing that, HA). We are able to walk the halls and go to the river in the lobby which has been a huge blessing!  Yesterday we were hopeful that today we could “piggy back” three procedures in the O.R. under sedation.  One, a transesophageal Echocardiogram to look at the back of the heart to make sure it’s truly not infected.  Two, removing the line that was placed on Saturday to a more permanent long term at home line that will run antibiotics for 6 weeks. Three, dental work to fix his teeth that are infected/decaying.  Sounded GREAT yesterday, but we had to wait to make sure his blood was clear of any infection and bacteria.  I went to sleep last night praying that we could move forward and get Grair home!  Grair had been infection free for 24 hours so I was very hopeful but this morning the blood grew strep again so we have to wait another 48 hours to do any procedures.  If we continue to get positive blood results (meaning the blood is still infected) we must wait for 48 hour of negative results (which means his blood is clear) we will have to keep waiting. Keep praying we can keep waiting. 🙂

We are working with Cardiology, Infectious Disease, and Dental so stories may change as we speak with more doctors today!  If we get a different game plan I will keep you posted.  But of now Grair is doing great and we are waiting.
