As the day of Thanksgiving comes to a close, we have much to be thankful for. The skills of the surgeons, the compassion of the nurses, and the knowledge of the doctors have helped to fix Grair’s heart.
Sometime last night, the pacemaker was turned off, as Grair’s fixed heart held the rhythm correctly. He is pumping all the blood on his own. In fact, his blood pressure is stable and without need of medicine. He has urinated enough to show his kidneys are able to function, a small concern due to the extended time on bypass. Each nurse that has worked with him since surgery has commented on how his begining hours of recovery have been textbook, no deviations or course changes. We feel in a great place relatvie to the major heart surgery Grair has undergone.
Melissa, Cael, Grair and I would like to thank everyone for thier support in prayers, thoughts and gifts. This has been a new, and difficult situation for our family, and it is because of your continued support that we have come this far. We are finding new strengths each day. Thank you!
